Child-led. Research-driven. Always evolving.
Our approach puts children at the centre of every design decision, validates through rigorous research and memory testing, and improves through constant R&D. We don't build in isolation — we actively invite partners to collaborate.
Start with the child
Every experience begins by observing how children naturally interact, learn, and respond. The child leads — we follow their cues, preferences, and strengths.
Research learning methods
We study visual, auditory, kinaesthetic, and multi-sensory approaches to understand which methods work best for different neurodiverse profiles.
Test memory retention
We run structured memory tests across learning groups to measure what sticks — short-term recall, long-term retention, and cross-modal comparisons.
Design for predictability
Consistent controls, clear cues, and simple navigation. Provide choice without overwhelming the learner. Tune sensory intensity to reduce overload.
Iterate through R&D
Track engagement and outcomes, gather staff and learner feedback, and improve. Our R&D cycle never stops — every pilot feeds the next version.
Our research foundation
We don't assume what works — we test it. Our research programme covers different learning methods and uses structured memory tests to measure retention across neurodiverse learning groups.
Memory testing
Structured recall tests across visual, auditory, and kinaesthetic learners to identify which XR methods produce the strongest retention.
Learning method analysis
Comparative study of different teaching approaches — from visual scaffolding to multi-sensory immersion — to match methods to learner profiles.
Continuous R&D
Every pilot, every observation, every test feeds back into our design process. We iterate constantly — the work is never finished.
Implementation principles
Supervision
Use XR with trained adults present, especially for younger learners and learners with higher support needs.
Short sessions
Time-box experiences and plan transitions. Start with small pilots and scale carefully.
Data protection
Follow your school's policies. Avoid unnecessary data capture and ensure age-appropriate consent.
Collaborate with us
EdTechXR is an open, ongoing R&D effort. We actively invite schools, researchers, SEND specialists, therapists, and XR developers to partner with us — whether that's co-designing experiences, running joint pilots, or contributing to our research programme.
